bengallagher.dev is the portfolio and services website of Ben Gallagher, freelance web and mobile app developer. By browsing this site you accept these terms of use.

Demo websites

The portfolio section contains demonstration websites created to showcase design and development work. The businesses they present (hotels, restaurants, spas, and others) are fictional. Any resemblance to real businesses is coincidental, and nothing on a demo site is a real offer, booking, or price.

Pricing

Prices displayed on this site are indicative starting prices. The final price of a project depends on its scope and is confirmed in a written quote before any work begins. Nothing on this site constitutes a binding offer.

Service terms

These conditions apply to the promises in the Prices section and the questions on this site. They describe how I work in practice; a written quote for a specific project takes precedence over anything here.

Delivery times. Quoted timelines, for example 10 business days for a website, start from the day I have received all of your content, access and information, and assume replies to my questions within a reasonable time. Delays in providing what I need extend the deadline by the same amount.

Revisions until launch. Before your site or app goes live, you can request as many changes to the design and content as you need, at no extra cost. Revisions cover refinements within the scope we agreed: additional pages, new features or a change of direction are a separate quote.

Support after launch. The 30 days of support cover bug fixes and small text or image changes. New pages, new features, redesigns, content rewriting and problems caused by third-party services are outside that and are quoted separately.

Deposit refund. If you are not satisfied after the first draft and decide not to continue, your deposit is refunded minus payment processing fees, which the payment provider does not return to me. This applies at the first-draft stage only; once the project has moved beyond it, work already completed is payable.

Ownership. Once a project is paid in full, what I made for you is yours: the code, the design and the content. Your domain is registered in your name from the start.

Hosting and care plan

Price. $120 a year per website, or $240 a year for sites with bookings and payments, which have more to keep working (payments, booking data, emails).

What’s included. Hosting on Vercel, the SSL certificate, security and software updates, fixing anything that stops working, and small text or image changes. New pages, new features, redesigns, content rewriting and problems caused by third-party services are outside the plan and are quoted separately, as with support after launch.

Billing. The plan is billed yearly in advance, starting at launch. The first 30 days of support are part of the website price.

Domain name. Your domain is registered at OVH in your name, so you own it, and billed at cost each year. Its price depends on the name and its ending, so it isn’t fixed in advance.

Stopping. You can stop the plan before any renewal. I then hand over your site’s files and help you move your domain.

Intellectual property

Unless stated otherwise, the content of this site (design, text, code and demo websites) belongs to Ben Gallagher. You may not reproduce or reuse it for commercial purposes without written permission.

Liability

The information on this site is provided in good faith and "as is". I make reasonable efforts to keep it accurate but give no warranty of completeness. To the extent permitted by applicable law, I am not liable for damages arising from the use of this site or of external sites it links to.
